Programs – JOFEE Partners

These training programs are run by various JOFEE partners at their respective locations. Each offers a unique take on how to engage with JOFEE teaching and programming.

The Adamah Fellowship is a three-month program for adults ages 20-35 that integrates organic agriculture, farm-to-table living, Jewish learning, community building, social justice and spiritual practice. Adamah cultivates the soil and the soul to produce food, to build and transform identities and to gather a community of people changing the world. We grow organic vegetables, fruit, herbs, goats, flowers, eggs, and we grow people through experiences with ecology, food production, social justice, spiritual practice, a vibrant evolving Judaism, and intentional community. In the fall, take ownership and integrate your new skills by diving deeper into group-guided projects.  Live on-site at our beautiful camp, one hour north of New York City. Learn more and apply.

Teva Educators – Each fall, a team of 10-14 educators teaches in Teva’s flagship Shomrei Adamah program. Shomrei Adamah (Keepers of the Earth) is an immersive four-day experience for 5th and 6th grade students in Jewish day schools throughout the Northeast. All Teva educators must have prior experience and skill working with children. Strong background in either natural science or Judaism is preferred. Beyond this, we seek to create a diverse and well-balanced team with a wide range of skills and interests, including music, art, drama, wilderness skills, cooking, storytelling, fire eating…you name it. Learn more and apply.

The Urban Adamah Fellowship is a three-month residential leadership program for adults ages 21-31 that combines urban organic farming, mindfulness practice, social action training and progressive Jewish learning and living. Fellows learn and work at our farm in Berkeley, California, and live together in a shared house nearby. We accept up to 14 individuals per Fellowship season. Through the operation of Urban Adamah’s one acre organic farm and internship placements with other Bay Area community based organizations, fellows gain significant skills, training, and experience in sustainable urban agriculture, community building, and leadership development.
